Persistent cough may simply be a delay in recovery from bronchitis due to a virus, with the tissues slow to regenerate.
It may also be due to mycoplasma, chlamydia, or pertussis. If she does not have fever or other symptoms and is progressively improving, would not worry. If any other symptoms are present would have the pediatrician or pcp see her asap.
