Thyroiditis is almost like a bruised thyroid.
Initially it is hyperactive, then it is hypoactive. Wherever in that continuum you end up drawing the labs, you may find them high, low or normal, or high again, or normal again. There is an eb and flow. Therefore, interpretation goes hand in hand with symptoms. They cannot be interpreted as a single value but rather as a trend over a period of time.
