In brief: Clavicle fracture

Clavicle fractures are difficult to immobilize.
They are not castes. We used to use figure of 8 harness, but results same using simple sling. And sling better tolerated. If displaced and shortened, surgery may be recommended, depending on patient and fracture "personality".

In brief: Correct

A clavicle fracture that an experienced physician has determined will heal without surgery does not require a cast.
Sometimes, physicians will recommend that the patient wear a clavicle strap or just a simple sling for a period of time.
