In brief: Broad category

Bronchospastic refers to the small muscles that wrap around the small to medium airways in the lungs.
These tiny muscles can constrict when there is inflammation triggered like cold, exercise, smoke, viruses, allergies, etc. This is typically seen in asthma or copd.

In brief: Bronchospasm

Lung are made of airways, blood vessels, air sacs, ; support tissue.
Airways are made of muscle tissue. Sometimes, that muscle can tighten up like a cramp - that's called spasm. Bronchospasm is seen when someone has a "reaction" to perfumes, allergies, strong odors etc. When someone does not have the "classic" criteria for asthma, but still highly suspect for it, it's called bronchospastic pulm dz.
