In brief: Different types

Although they are both called arthritis, they are two very different types.
Each one has different causes and different manifestations. There can be certain similarities of therapy. We need to define each one because our clinical program, our clinical evaluation, and our therapy can differ. They have different types of immunologic processes involved in each of these. There are over 100 different types of arthritis.

Not exactly. RA can effect any synovial joint in the body and is not limited to just hands and feet. 25% of adult RA effects only a single joint, usually the knee. Psoriatic arthritis has the same capabilities.
