In brief: You need F/U

This is not typical after a routine carpal tunnel release.
You should be feeling much better by now. A potential complication of any surgery is the development of rsd or crps (reflex sympathetic dystrophy , complex regional pain syndrome) this can be treated but you need to see your doctor. Get it checked out.

Surgery - Hand Surgery

In brief: Certainly one has to

Look at the surgery and your hand and the nerve and seeif there are any remaing issues but associated problems are at times overlooked such as arthritis, trigger fingers, especially of the thumb.
Make sure your expectations for pain relief dont include steoarthritits of the base o f the thumb which wont go away fully from carpal tunnel release ( may feel better but still will be there).
