In brief: Now

You can and should start brushing your child's teeth now.
Use a non-fluoride containing toothpaste. Also try to schedule a visit to a Pediatric Dentist. It is recommended that this start at 1 year of age.

The last thing in her mouth before sleep should be a toothbrush. Good for you for thinking about this!

In brief: Right now

As soon as there are any teeth, it is recommended to start brushing.
Use children's low Fluoride toothpaste instead of normal toothpaste just in case thry swallow some. It is even suggested that parents brush the gums of their baby even before there are teeth so that the baby is used to the idea of having you go into their mouth.

In brief: Good for you

Important to clean teeth from the moment they erupt.
Best recommendation is to see a Pediatric Dental Specialist now (no later than 1st b'day) for examination, dento-facial growth and development assessment, pediatric oral hygiene instructions, cavity restricting dietary instructions, Fluoride titration, to establish a baseline, and for your child and the Pedodontist to bond. Go now.

It is important to start brushing your child's teeth as son as they erupt.
Use a soft toothbrush at least twice a day. You can use a tiny amount of toothpaste if you would like but you don't need any toothpaste at this point. Start teaching her good habits now. God luck.
