In brief: Rest and answers

First, you need to be able to take a break by letting someone else look after your baby for a few hours, at least.
Then, work with your pediatrician to see if there is a treatable medical cause, and to learn better coping and soothing skills.

In brief: Try one of the "S's"

There are very few things more upsetting than a baby that will not stop crying.
Crying is more pervasive than one might imagine. Most infants cry can be traced to a specific cause (hungry, wet, dirty, cold, hot, sleepy, bored, pain, afraid, etc.) that can be "fixed". For those unexplained cries consider using one of the "5 s's": -swaddling -stomach/side lying -sshh'ing -swinging -sucking.

In brief: Solutions vary

Everyone's coping mechanisms are different.
Some people work hard to understand the reasons that their baby cries; some seek to relieve the crying; some seek solace in a partner, friend or relative. Unfortunately, some see crying as a failure in parenting or an indication of inadequacy. The value of a sympathetic ear should never be underestimated.
