In brief: No Candy !

First be sure it's the add med causing the problem. Then ask your md if it can be changed to one that is less drying.
Third, use only products that are sugar free. Search google for xylitol candy and other products. Xylitol is a sweetener that does not cause tooth decay and in fact helps prevent it. That is the biggest problem with dry mouths.

In brief: Floride rinse

When meds cause dry mouth you may not be rinsing teeth well exposing roots.
A daily floride rinse will help prevent cavities at the gumline.

In brief: Gum, hard candy

In addition we used to make up a very dilute Pilocarpine solution to swish around in your mouth.
