Gastritis and bowels. Yes! Gastritis or any stomach irritation can cause diarrhea gas and bloating. Treatment of the gastritis can improve these conditions.
Yes. Having gastritis is a common cause of diarrhea.
I got diagnosed with gastritis last week and the past few days my bowel movements have been orange. What could cause this?
Diet. Orange color in the stool is almost always related to something in the diet, or a medication that was ingested. If your stools turn red or black, see your doctor immediately.
3 bowel movements this am? 1 normal color and shape. 2nd softer and lighter brown and 3rd a lot of small pieces? Inconsistent lately- diet? Gastritis?
Diet, meds, other. The variety of stool consistencies you describe are within the normal spectrum stool consistencies. This is influenced by the amount of fiber and composition of your diet, how much water you ingest, the medications you take, and the profile of microbes (microbiome) that inhabit your bowels.
Probably normal. It seems it is related to what you ate and there is nothing abnormal. As long as there are no loose stools, no fever, no abdominal pain, no nausea;vomiting you do not have to worry and these three stools are nothing to be concerned about. But if it persists or you get other symptoms than consult your doctor.
I haven't had a bowel movement in 2 days after going to the ER and being diagnosed with "gastritis"? What could this mean? Can this be fatal?
Depends. Gastritis or inflammation of stomach can be painful and may make eating food not pleasant or result in liquid diet. If amount eaten in last few days reduced so would bowel movements. Food is the stimulation for bowel movements.
I was diagnosed with gastritis 2 weeks ago. 2 weeks prior to that, I began a diet of 1200 calories a day (from 1800) and had regular bowel movements i.e. consistent time, shape, color, consistency etc. Since being diagnosed with gastritis and lowering m
Bowel movements. A change in diet and other routines like travel, etc often also changes pattern of bowel movements. These should eventually reregulate them selves. Make sure your new diet provides regular eating times, adequate fluid and fiber intake. Any medication prescribed for your gastritis may also affect your bowel movements and you should avoid alcohol, caffeine and nicotine. Maalox loosens and Gelusil binds.
More acid. When you cut calories you have less food to buffer the acid your stomach makes. Your stomach is still making acid for1800 calories. Take an acid blocker like Pepcid (famotidine) and stick to your diet its normal also add fiber like Straight medical labs fiber blend it will help.
Gastrtis. The question is not clear. But you have made all the changes for good, keep it up.
I've been having gas about everyday off and on could it be gastritis I have normal bowel movements about twice a day I have been under stress lately
Upper or lower. Are you referring to upper gas (belching) or lower gas (passing flatus)? Gastritis is an inflammation of the stomach lining and its main symptom is discomfort in the upper midabdomen which may be relieved by food or antacids. There may also be belching and associated tenderness in the area. This is treated with bland diet;mylanta (which relieves acidity and upper abdominal gaseous distress)or prilose.
Often. Actually patients with ulcerative colitis who have an acute flare up may have bloody diarrhea. I would seek treatment from a gastroenterologist or colorectal surgeon.
Hi I have acid reflux, gastritis, strawlike hair which is thinning, acne, missed period, dry skin, irregular bowel movements. What could this be?
Go see ur family doc. While we usually try to narrow things down to one diagnosis to explain all symptoms, you might have two or more going on, which is why it's important to tell your family doc what's going on & get complete evaluation. Your acid reflux & gastritis are variations on a theme. However, strawlike thinning hair, missed period, dry skin & irregular bowel mvmts might be thyroid disease eg hypothyroidism.
