In brief: Surgery

Shots not an answer for sebaceous cyst.
See ENT or facial plastic surgeon for excision.

In brief: Most likely surgery

Occasionally, drainage and steroid injections will resolve an acute inflammation of a cyst.
However, most of the time there is still sebaceous material present that will continue to proliferate. The cyst will most likely need to be surgically excised once the inflammation has resolved.

In brief: Have it excised

A sebaceous cyst will follow a vicious cycle of filling with sebum, becoming infected, draining, then starting over. If infected now, may require incision and drainage by doctor. Once healed, have sac removed to prevent recurrence.

Who would inject it with cortisone? Especially when infected!
