Excessive alcohol intake can cause liver disease which can cause macrocytic anemia.
Also people people who drink lots of alcohol could have nutrient and vitamin deficiencies such as vitamin b 12 and folic acid, and deficiencies from these can also cause macrocytic anemia. It's okay to have a drink now and then though.
