Is rubella immune blood test positive good?

No,indicates imunit. A positive test for rubella immunity indicates your body has been exposed to wild rubella or the rubella vaccine ; developed protective antibodies to it. If you are female, it means you will not pass rubella to your fetus if u are exposed to the illness during pregnancy ; get the disease.

I just got my results back for a blood test done for the Rubella Ab (IGG). Test is positive my level is 3.05 is that okay? I am 15 weeks pregnant

Yes. That means that you are immune to rubella, likely from the MMR vaccine you would have received as a child. Your baby and you are protected from rubella infection should you be exposed during pregnancy. Though of course if you come into contact with someone with rubella, to be safe you should avoid them going forward. Also, congratulations on being an expecting mom! Read more...

What does it mean if it comes back on a blood test that the rubella titer was reactive?

You R protected. A positive rubella titer means your body has developed a protective level of antibodies to the rubella virus. That's good. I'm assuming this is for prenatal labs. You want to be "rubella immune". That means the vaccine worked. If you didn't react, you'd be susceptible to getting it and putting the fetus at risk. Read more...

I got my blood test back and I am 8 weeks pregnant. There was one that concerned me it's called rubella and it's at 2.53 what do I do?

Talk to your doctor. In all likelihood the result represents the antibody from rubella vaccination and it is of no concern. Your doctor can repeat the test to see if there has been an increase in the strength of the antibody (titer) which would mean recent infection and would be serious. Wish you good health and a healthy baby! Read more...

Normal labs. We are all, hopefully, immunized against rubella as children. Also, CMV exposure is common as a child or among women who work around children. Immunity is indicated by the presence of igg antibiodies. Your testing indicates that you are immune to rubella and CMV (i am assuming it was igg for cmv). This is a good thing and unrelated to the recent miscarriage. Read more...
