In brief: After few days

Patients are given crutches, and instructed to walk with the crutches.
Most often, patients will be allowed to place weight on the operated leg so long as the knee is held fully straight (either with a knee immobilizer or a hinged knee brace locked in extension).

In brief: Depends

Follow your surgeon's instructions.
Usually patient's are non-weight bearing for 4-6 weeks after meniscus repair surgery. Meniscectomy, or removal of torn meniscus tissue, typically has no post-op restrictions.
