Yes, but those that contain EPA omega-3 lower triglycerides and LDL cholesterol, those that contain both DHA and EPA will lower triglycerides but raise LDL cholesterol. If you don't want dietary supplement fish oil there's prescription EPA Vascepa or EPA/DHA Lovaza. Epanova is another just approved by FDA. Read more...

Lowering TG's. Fish oils products contain epa and dha, two marine based omega three fatty acids that at doses of 2-4 gms /day have been shown to lower triglycerides (tg's). We lower tg's when they are high to prevent pancreatitis (>500 mg/dl), however there are no studies supporting this recommendation. They do so via several mechanisms, and are very well tolerated.
