Can severe anemia cause constipation?

In brief: No, but look further

Severe anemia is an unlikely cause for constipation and vice versa.
Anemia and constipation can both be caused by cancer of the colon, however, so the greatest concern should be their occurring together, but not one actually causing the other. Further studies should be pursued when anemia and constipation show up at about the same time.
