What happens when yr mitral valve is heavily calcified & there is mild mixed mitral valve disease?

It depends. Calcification of the mitral valve can lead to stiff leaflets of the valve. This can cause the valve to not open enough (stenosis) , leak (regurge) or a combo of both. Typically this can be handled with medications. However, it can continue to worsen to the point that it affects the heart. Then you may need to have mitral valve surgery (probably replacement).
