Is it important for adults to chaperone HS kids even on a church outing?

In brief: Kids are kids
It's always important to remember that kids are going to be kids, church or no.
As a pediatrician, i very definitely know that church going kids are only a little bit less likely to engage in inappropriate behavior and sexual activity. There should always be proper adult supervision and monitoring of behavior on outings. You don't need to have "room for the holy ghost" but look for normal behavior.

Anyone can misbehave on a church outing. Whether its irresponsible or inappropriate adults or overactive kids so yes kids always needs supervision so you can rest safe and know you aren't letting harm come to them. Better safe than sorry.
