In brief: Gag reflex

Lots of people have a difficult time swallowing pills, so you are not alone.
When you eat food, you just swallow, not thinking about it. The act of swallowing a pill, or a non-food entity, brings out your gag reflex. With practice, you should be able to get it down. Practice with m&ms - it worked for my kids!
