Do you recommend laparoscopy in patients with suspected endometriosis even if they are not interested in their future fertility?

Yes. If the patient is having pain and this pain is interfereing with her quality of life, laparoscopy is necessary to diagnose and treat the disease. On the other hand if the patient is able to carry a regular life then laparoscopy may not be necessary.
Definitely ! Endometriosis can cause distortion and adhesions in the pelvis resulting in pain with intercourse, voiding and bowel movements. If found, you have confirmed the diagnosis and can remove it at the time of laparoscopy.
Yes. Endometriosis can cause other significant problems aside from infertility. Performing laparoscopy can establish the diagnosis so you can be treated appropriately. Of course, any decision for surgery needs to be individualized and after discussion with your surgeon.
