Can scrotal skin infections cause infetility?

Yes. It is not that likely but they can. If the infection gets deeper into the testicle scarring can form in the tiny tubes that transport the sperm or damage can occur to the hormone and/or sperm producing cells. But it is not very common.
Maybe, maybe not. If the infection remains along the surface of the scrotal skin and never travels deep into the tissue, it will not influence fertility at all. If the skin infection was related to a penetrating wound or somehow traveled into the deep tissues (rare) i could see this happening. There are several layers of tissue between the outside skin and the functional testis that germs would have to pass through.
