Wait. You should generally finish your Accutane treatment before you try to treat the acne scars. Acne scars are very hard to get rid of. There are over the counter products that can help slightly with dark spots, but I would not expect a major improvement. Indented scars will not respond to anything sold over the counter. Red acne scars and spots have been on my cheeks for about 9 months, nothing changed. Got on Accutane a few months ago some improvement, what can I do?

Many options: trials. On occasion, it may take many trials of different regimens to achieve optimal improvement. You may have to avoid any surgical/exfoliative treatments for one year following cessation of accutane. Discuss your options with a dermatologist who is experienced in acne care. This may include novel and off label applications of red/blue light therapy, ipl, infrared, ala therapy, etc. Meanwhile avoid sun. Read more...

Please explain microdermabrasion to me! I have bad acne scars (not deep tho) how long after Accutane can I do it, how long tell it works, how much money?

Accutane . it basically abrades the top layer of your skin to remove damaged skin. I do not recommend it for at least 1 yr after stopping accutane. Never do it with active acne breakout. We are not here to give you prices. Talk to your dermatologist who prescribed accutane. Your scars may improve mildly if performed properly. Read more...

Have to be on Accutane for one month maybe 2 months depending on my dermatologist, does it cure acne scars?

Sorry, no. Accurate reduces acne outbreaks that can lead to new scars, but does not remove or reduce old scars. Scars (caused by any process or injury) are permanent and require other surgical intervention for improvement, such as dermabrasion or laser resurfacing. However, Accutane can lead to increased risks of scarring with surgeries performed within a year or longer after its use, so beware! Read more...
No. Acutane changes the secretions of the oil glands of the skin to reduce the severity of cystic acne (the worst type). Scars are scars and need to be addressed separately after your acne is stable. Read more...
