In brief: It depends

If you are obese then losing weight is the best nonsurgical option.
For every 10% body weight you lose snoring decreases approximately 50%. If you're not overweight then your options are more limited. If you snore only when you are on your back then try sewing a tennis ball into the bottom part of the back of a t-shirt. Where the t-shirt at night and it will train you to no longer sleep on your back.

In brief: Sleep apnea

You also want to ensure the snoring is not associated with underlying sleep apnea as nearly 65-75% of people that snore have underlying sleep apnea.
And with the associated cardiovascular risk associated with sleep apnea it's something easily treatable without surgery that also treats snoring.

In brief: Easy things first

Avoid sleeping on your back, lose weight, & dont drink alcohol at night.
There are a number of office procedures that can be done by ent's that can significantly reduce snoring, pillar procedure, rfa of the palate, rfa of the tongue. Consider an ENT consult to see if this right for you. They should also screen for sleep apnea.
