I think I have a yeast infection, I have chunky discharge, itchiness, and swollen vagina hurts during sex, what treatment should I use?

Imidazoles. for intravaginal application are available over the counter for use at the consumer's discretion. Try an OTC "azole" This certainly sounds like a yeast infection. If you have had it before, professionally diagnosed, and the symptoms are similar, you can safely try an over-the-counter yeast medication. Look for active ingredient ending in "azole" (miconazole, clotrimazole, etc). All are equally good; you can choose the least expensive. See a doctor if no improvement after 3-4 days. Read more...

Cramps after sex and vagina swollen and yeast infection a day or so later?

Could be... This could very well be related to a yeast infection so you could try for example clotrimazole or monistat over the counter. However, this could be associated to other infections so would be prudent to see GYN provider for exam. My other advise is to get a pregnancy test if you had unprotected sex. Read more...

Unfortunately, penile vaginal intercourse can lead to yeast infections as well as frictional trauma (consider using a lubricant). Treat the yeast, and consider condoms or a shared shower before intercourse. Read more...

Can the rash on my vagina be from my yeast infection? Also have a node in my groin that's hurting and swollen?? Haven't had sex in 7 months

Probably not yeast. Yeast generally does not cause lymph node inflammation. A new herpes infection would be a consideration if the rash has blisters or open sores, but unlikely with no recent sexual contact. Depending on the nature of the rash, perhaps a bacterial infection like staph or strep. See a doctor and take it from there. Good luck. Read more...
