better for what? Zoloft (sertraline) is a widely used ssri antidepressant. Trazodone is also an antidepressant, but is so sedating it is usually used as a sleep-aid, not to treat depression. So you might say zoloft is better for depression, while trazodone is better for sleep. Occasionally people use trazodone for depression too though, ; for them, it may be better than zoloft. "better" is often a hard call.
Agree w Dr. Reidbord. What are you using the medication for? If you are trying to treat insomnia - than for many, trazodone would be a better choice. If you are trying to treat depression or anxiety disorder only then zoloft might be preferable because at therapeutic doses the trazodone might be overly sedating.
I was diagnosed with PKD recently. I'm on zoloft, (sertraline) adderall, & trazadone. Is it okay for me to be taking all those?
Yes. The three medications are compatible and often prescribed together. Read more...
