I would recommend that you NOT take these medications together at the same time because doing so will be like taking 5 drugs at the same time. Take the Nyquil Cough before going to bed. If needed, you can take the Zyrtec (cetirizine) D once daily as needed in the morning. Reserve the Nyquil for just before bedtime.
If you have diabetes or high blood pressure, check with your doctor first. ...Read more
Allegra (fexofenadine) 180 mg: Zyrtec may cause drowsiness. Allegra (fexofenadine) does not cross into the brain and should not cause drowsiness. The "d" component is a decongestant and may cause insomnia, decreased appetite, high blood pressure and in men - urinary difficulties due to prostate issues so I do not prefer the Allegra (fexofenadine)-D products. I am 18w pregnant. Taking zyrtec-d daily whole pregnancy. Now I read it's not good. Doc told me it was fine. Is my baby ok?!?
Can Zyrtec be used as prophylactic therapy like Claritin (loratadine)? I never respond well to claritin (loratadine). I feel it doesn't prevent much and I wind up on Zyrtec d.
Not appropriate use: Zanaflex (tizanidine) is a muscle relaxer (http://www. Drugs. Com/zanaflex. Html) so it's not intended for use in treating sinus headaches. Moreover, use of Zanaflex (tizanidine) w/ZyrtecD (antihistamine w/decongestant) runs risk of drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, difficulty concentrating, and impairment in thinking and judgment. You didn't ask but definitely don't recommend concomitant alcohol. http://goo. Gl/w30maz ...Read more
Can I take Zanaflex (tizanidine) and zyrtec d together? Took zyrtrec for my allergies but would like to also take my muscle relaxer.
Better not: If taken together can cause CNS depression and psychomotor impairment, zanaflex (tizanidine) has a short half life 2.5 hours, so it can stay in your system for 5 hours or longer, zyrtec has a half life of 9 hours, so it can stay for about 18 hours, drop one untill you talk to your doctor about an alternative, spacing them out, or dose reduction, good that you asked, always exercise caution with multiple meds ...Read more
Could I take Alka-seltzer and Zyrtec-d at the same time? A doctor said yes...but I have diarrhoea and I was wondering if that be why.
Yes you may: But in general, I do not encourage people to take the decongestant because of its relative ineffectiveness and potential side effects. Neither has anything to do with your diarrhea. ...Read more

Nasal steroid: Nasal steroid will likely be more effective but takes a few days of regular use to get optimal results. If still having problem, consult an allergist. ...Read more
What is the best way to clear ear congestion? Claritin, (loratadine) zyrtec-d, and Neti Pot did not help. I have allergy-like congestion, but can not clear left ear
Maybe steroids: Your eustachian tube may be congested. It might be time to see an ENT for consideration of either nasal steroids or a tapered dose of oral steroids. In the interim you may also consider using afrin nasal spray 2 sprays each nostril twice a day for only three days. Combine this with gently trying to clear your ears by pinching your nose shut gently and blowing against the closed nose. ...Read more
Fluid In middle ear treatment? I have tried Flonase, sudafed, Zyrtec-d and steam bowl but nothing is helping
I am taking Zyrtec- D and I have a constant headache. I was wondering if it was safe to take ibuprofen or a non-aspirin pain relief?
I am taking regular allegra (fexofenadine) 24 hours along with flonase and eye drops. Not getting much relief....is it safe to also take zyrtec d or sudafed d?
It is safe to take: sudafed, but not zyrtec and allegra (fexofenadine) together-only 1 or the other. I would try zyrtec, it is stronger than allegra (fexofenadine). No decongestants if you have high blood pressure. No zyrtec D and sudafed together, as they both contain decongestants. Use zyrtec plain. ...Read more
I took Zyrtec-D almost 12 hours ago thinking it's my allergies, but my nose won't quit & now my throat is scratchy. Can I try theraflu cold & flu now?
Yes: At 12 hours, you would be due for another dose anyway, and it sounds like the Zyrtec-D did not do you any good. Go for a different product (Theraflu sounds like a fine choice). Understand, though, the if there is a decongestant in the product (look at the active ingredients list), it may keep you awake if you're taking it around bedtime. ...Read more
