"Zoo" means animal: Not sure 'why' you want to know this-but typically in medicine, zoonotic refers to animal related diseases. It is an adjective that describes 'where' and 'how' an infectious disease might affect humans. The other word I think you're typing is 'zoonosis' which is a noun and refers to the actual animal disease that can infect humans. Contact/irritant: Zoonoses, for those who don't know, are animal diseases that can be transmitted to humans. This doesn't sound like a zoonosis. It sounds like you're coming in contact with an allergen or direct skin irritant, and you'll have to do some detective work to uncover the culprit.
