Is it possible for trazodone 50 mg and Ambien (zolpidem) 10 mg to be taken together?

Is it possible for trazodone 50 mg and Ambien (zolpidem) 10 mg to be taken together?

Provider supervision: This combination could be reasonable if you are being closely managed by a health professional prescribing them to you. Treatment decisions are always benefits vs. risks. Ambien (zolpidem) is recommended to be started at 5 mg but can be increased to 10 mg if needed and you are aware of the added risks (see the FDA's warning). I am not sure what other medications you may be taking. Alcohol is not recommended. ...Read more

Will ambien (zolpidem) work for me again after 14 month hiatus? Would like to switch back and forth from ambien (zolpidem) and to trazodone to keep both men's working.

Restarting Ambien (zolpidem): If Ambien (zolpidem) helped you in the past, it should be effective now. However, switching on/off Trazodone is not recommended. If Trazodone is helping you sleep, best take consistently to maintain therapeutic blood level. Med changes should not be made without talking to prescribing doctor first. Avoid alcohol while on these meds. All the best. ...Read more

Is it dangerous to take 2 mg of klonopin, 10 mg of ambien (zolpidem) and 50 mg of trazodone all within a half hour in order to sleep? I'm a 140 lb woman.

Is it dangerous to take 2 mg of klonopin, 10 mg of ambien (zolpidem) and 50 mg of trazodone all within a half hour in order to sleep? I'm a 140 lb woman.

Depends: Usually a doctor will not start with all three of those medications at that dosage. If the medication is being titrated up such dosages might be prescribed. SOmetimes Trazadone will be an even higher dosage. Hopefully you and your doctor will try to figure out why you are having trouble sleeping and psychotherapy might be considered. ...Read more

150 mg Trazodone, 1 mg klonopin. And 10 mg ambien (zolpidem). Ambien (zolpidem) doesn't work for me by itself been on klonopin for years. Trazodone was great in the past. Any thoughts.? Sounds like a major hangover to me.

Sleep study: This is a potentially very dangerous combination of drugs affecting the brain. Have you had a sleep study done to find out the cause? Depression or anxiety is another cause for insomnia. I would certainly explore both avenues instead of continuing on this medication cocktail. Don't delay any further. ...Read more

Trazodone s/e?: You may have dizziness from Trazodone (dose you take not known). If dizziness occurs when changing positions, eg, from lying down to standing up, more likely from Trazodone. Discuss with prescribing doctor and get blood pressure checked. I hope this helps. Best wishes. ...Read more

Too many drugs here: The combination of all this medication is not a good option in my opinion and I don't believe increasing doses of any individual one of these will help you sleep any better. I like the idea of working toward nonpharmacological ways to approach your insomnia before using all these agents. Again, speaking to your doctor before changing would be best but ultimately, I think for you, LESS is MORE. ...Read more

Insomnia: Have you been evaluated by a sleep specialist? If not, you should. Seroquel (quetiapine) is not usually effective when used this way. The sleep specialist can order medications for you if advisable and these may be temporary but will delve into your habits in depth, order appropriate tests such as looking for restless leg syndrome and advise a regimen for you specifically. ...Read more
