In addition, if you lost weight due to a depression, it should increase again once the depression is adequately treated. You may fare better with a focus on wellness than on any exact number in terms of weight. A consultation with a nutritionist may be valuable. ...Read more

Can I wean off of Effexor (venlafaxine) XR 35mg, and take Zoloft 25mg at the same time, so there is no lapse in treatment? And how long until Zoloft starts working?

Can I wean off of Effexor (venlafaxine) XR 35mg, and take Zoloft 25mg at the same time, so there is no lapse in treatment? And how long until Zoloft starts working?

Yes, if doc agrees: always discuss your plan of care with ur doc. it's most common 4 docs 2 recommend that patients reduce the dose of one med while they transition on to a new one, for the reason u mentioned -- no lapse. docs call this a "cross taper". Unclear how long it will take for zoloft (sertraline) to work. some pts feel btr in just a few days, while others may need up to 8 wks on the right dose. ring ur doc to discuss :) ...Read more

Get treatment: If that's not a typo, the fact that you took an overdose indicates that something is seriously wrong. The fact that you didn't immediately seek medical attention also indicates that something is very wrong. If it was a suicide attempt, you need to be under the care of a mental health professional now. If you haven't already, see a psychologist or psychiatrist and get treatment. ...Read more

I shoplift everyday. I take gabitril & Zoloft & wellbutrin (bupropion). Should I have therapy?

Moat likely: Shoplifting everyday is eventually going to lead to legal problems regardless how good you are at it. With tgat said, there is no medication that specifically treats kleptomania. Meds are prescribed in the hopes of decreasing the compulsive behavior at best.
