The presence of alcohol can alter the way drugs are metabolized meaning they either make drugs less effective or more dangerous. ...Read more

Is strattera (atomoxetine) with Zoloft better than ritalin with Zoloft for a person who has ocd+social anxiety+add?
What is the highest safe dose of Zoloft which can a doctor prescribe for a fast metabolizer person taking 120 mg strattera (atomoxetine) and fish oil? 200 mg?
Strattera (atomoxetine) and Zoloft:
The primary issue is that zoloft raises blood levels of strattera (atomoxetine) in rapid metabolizers, increasing the strattera (atomoxetine) 3-4 fold in the blood stream. Therefore I would say that 300-400 mg of zoloft is reasonable, but the dose of strattera (atomoxetine) should probably be 18 mg per day to 25 mg per day max. Best wishes. Also see options at:

Not a Problem: Skipping a day in taking these medications will not be a problem. Just take your next scheduled dose. Give 4 weeks for both, then ask your doctor if should increase the doses. ...Read more

Not harmful, but...: Atomoxetine is not a stimulant & does not work instantly. It can take several weeks at the correct dose before one notices benefit, and that benefit will diminish and eventually disappear if you are off long enough. Generally, barring unacceptable side effects, this medication is prescribed daily, even over the summer and definitely over school holidays. But, it's not dangerous to miss a dose. ...Read more
