Insomnia: The best way to initially combat insomnia is proper sleep hygiene. Be sure to exercise and eat healthy throughout the day, don`t drink caffeine 6 hrs before bedtime and only use your bed for sleep or sexual activity. A week ago I stopped taking Zoloft (25) and Ambien (zolpidem) at night and replaced both drugs with trazodone, as per my doc's suggestion. I feel extreme dizzyne?

Trazodone s/e?: You may have dizziness from Trazodone (dose you take not known). If dizziness occurs when changing positions, eg, from lying down to standing up, more likely from Trazodone. Discuss with prescribing doctor and get blood pressure checked. I hope this helps. Best wishes. ...Read more

I take Zoloft, lamictal, gabapentin and ambien, I just took an oral drug test for work - can they confirm that I'm on rx if I get any false positives?

I take Zoloft, lamictal, gabapentin and ambien, I just took an oral drug test for work - can they confirm that I'm on rx if I get any false positives?

You can!: Gather together (if you don't still have copies) proof of your Rx's from the Dr(s) and simply present them if necessary. Be as confident as you can and know that for many jobs it would be illegal for anyone to discriminate against you for being treated. You might need to show them evidence - but that's fine! You should be ok. ...Read more

I had one drink 3 hours ago. I am currently taking Zoloft. Can I take a 10 mg ambien (zolpidem)?

Prescribed?: Did Rx for both from the same Dr - or do they know about the other? Did you get instructions? The combo can have risks of dizziness and it's best to avoid driving or many tasks. Alcohol can only add to the risks. Be careful to have a trusted person nearby just in case of side effects. Talk openly w/ Dr's about these things when they prescribe. Best wishes. ...Read more

How long does insomnia last with zoloft. I've been on it for 3 weeks and now taking Ambien (zolpidem) and still can't sleep. How long does insomnia last on zolof?

It varies: The highest risk period for antidepressant side effects is the first 10-14 days after starting, but side effects can last up to a month before resolving. However, your insomnia sounds quite severe and given it has already been 3 weeks, in my opinion, likely warrants a change in medication. ...Read more

I take Ultram for fibro, Zoloft and Xanax (alprazolam) for panic anxiety disorder, and a Ambien at night for sleep is this a safe combo?

Xanax (alprazolam): I don't really recommend short acting benzos like xanax (alprazolam) for panic, they are associated with inter-dose withdrawal, faster tolerance and gradual elevation of baseline anxiety , discuss the issue with your psychiatrist, otherwise the combination is ok. ...Read more
