What is Zofran (ondansetron) taken for? I was prescribed Zofran (ondansetron) back in january 2012 but I don't remeber what it's taken for.
Am 8wks preg. Had bad nausea till last night. Today nothing. Is it normal to come and go? I haven't taken prescribed zofran (ondansetron).

Many options, but: You should talk to your pcp and explain your concern (s). There re many antiemetics available. However, to take this type of medication without medical history is under-standard of care. Example: Promethazine is a great antiemetic, but is contraindicated inchildren with liver disease. For nausea/hydration: IV fluid is given when vomiting has been severe enough to cause dehydration. Zofran (ondansetron) is used to treat nausea. Usually with children, vomiting is caused by a short-lived viral illness or simple stomach upset which will get better on its own. Interaction possible: Both Zofran (ondansetron) and Zoloft (sertraline) increase QTc interval of the cardiogram, and both can increase the serotonin effect. These effects may be problematic for some people. Wellbutrin (bupropion) and Zoloft can increase each others' levels which may be problematic.
