I started taking sertraline HCl 25 mg friday morning for anxiety today is my third day on the medication I was going to go out with some friends for a?
Not recommended: I wouldn't recommend use of any additional substances -- including alcohol -- if you have anxiety and/or are getting used to a new medication (like sertaline). Sertraline + alcohol can lead to sedation. Also, drinking alcohol itself can lead to anxiety -- depending on how much you drink, your frazzled neurons can fire in disturbed ways while recovering. ...Read more

This : This is an antibiotic and it is not clear how it could be related to numbness in the crotch, although medications can affect people differently. If it doesn't clear up please have your doctor see you again. If you have any back pain, numbness, weakness, pain down your legs, or loss of bowel or bladder control, you may have a spine condition and would need to be seen as an emergency. ...Read more
When would flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) be indicated for migraine treatment? Also, would it be daily dosing or a prn medication?
Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl): Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) is a muscle relaxant & would be used if the migranes were being triggered by muscle tension which is uncommon since most migraines are vascular in nature. I would think if prescribed for migraines it would be prn but there are better choices if you have true migraine headaches that could prevent or treat them. ...Read more

I started taking sertraline HCl 25mg friday morning for anxiety. It's my third day on the medication. Is it safe to have a few drinks? My doc said yes
"A few" = how many?: First, consider why you doubt your physician's advice. Next -- regarding the safety of "a few" drinks, it depends on the quantity you mean. I wouldn't recommend drinking at all while getting used to sertraline, as adding alcohol can lead to more sedation than expected. Also, drinking alcohol can itself lead to anxiety -- especially in hangovers when your irritable neurons are trying to recover. ...Read more

Medication for cystic acne & saeborrheic dermatitis causing severe migraines. Using isotretinoin, minocycline as HCl BP & desloratadine. Drug reaction?
Stop meds, check eye: If you are having headaches, I would stop the Minocycline and isotretinoin. When given together there is an increased risk of a rare side effect, pseudotumor cerebri. I would have my eyes checked and if no evidence of pseudotumor, restart either the Minocin (minocycline) or isotretinoin, but not both. Migraines can also worsen with Isotretinoin and not affect the eyes, but it definitely needs to be ruled out. ...Read more
