Excessive zinc intake 5 or so months ago for 2-3 weeks (100mg+/day), then I discontinued. Now zinc deficiency symptoms are appearing (hair loss), why?

Forgive my frankness: I appreciate your interest in health, which first prompted you to oversupplement (this will upset your gut and risk copper deficiency). Don't self-diagnose zinc deficiency now just because you're losing hair now. You may have telogen effluvium, be losing your temple hair like all newly-adult men do, or something else. Most "pop" nutrition is junk; why not talk with a real dietician? ...Read more

I have suffer from lower zinc deficiency. My blood has an orange colour. I would like to know which diseases cause this.

Zinc deficiency: ..in itself does not cause orange-colored urine. Deficiency is usually diagnosed by serum or plasma blood tests or hair analysis. Conditions which are associated with orange urine color include liver or bile duct problems or significant dehydration which can concentrate your urine and make it much deeper in color. I would rehydrate generously and see what happens. Good wishes:) ...Read more

Can I buy zinc supplements to treat my acne even if I do not have a zinc deficiency? I'm thinking about buying Nature Made's 30mg zinc tablets.

Save your money: 40 years ago there was a suggestion that Zn supplements might help acne. It was studied and shown to be NOT EFFECTIVE. So it was abandoned by those who actually know how to clear acne. But the frauds and crooks kept looking for suckers to sell to. They will sell anything the rubes will buy.
