What are the side effects of the e_cig if it contains zero nicotine?

Still toxic: E-cigarettes are not "safe." they are not zero nicotine, they are zero smoke. The nicotine keeps you addicted. Many adverse effects, including increased airway resistance (lowered ability to breathe), starts right away upon use. Also toxic ; carcinogenic chemicals are still inhaled (such as formaldehyde ; propylene glycol). Take the leap ; quit! try smoking cessation class or nicotine anonymous. ...Read more

Will the zero nicotine e cigs hurt me while i take fertile xx medication?

Will the zero nicotine e cigs hurt me while i take fertile xx medication?

Don't chance it: electronic cigarettes use propylene glycol, which is an oil, as a propellant, and what this does when inhaled is simply unknown in humans. There are also preservatives, stabilizers, flavorings and other additives that are currently a trade secret and vary with each manufacturer. So, you are playing craps with not only YOUR health, but the health of a baby should you be successful in your efforts. ...Read more

Will a zero nicotine or no nicotine vapor pen cause anything bad like cancer or anything along those lines?

Will a zero nicotine or no nicotine vapor pen cause anything bad like cancer or anything along those lines?

We do not know: The problem with vapor smoking is the unregulated production of the liquid cartridge. The bottom line is that you really do not know what is in the vapor product. There are many things that have carcinogenic capabilities-and this carcinogenesis is enhanced in almost any product by burning it. Best to avoid smoking (anything) all together. ...Read more

What to do if I got addicted either so I want to get the 0 nicotine and the 0 tobacco. what brand or kinds do you suggest?

Don't understand ?: There are lower tar and nicotine cigarettes, but people who smoke them tend to smoke more of them, inhale more deeply and hold it longer, so they are getting the same amount. The best way to quit is to use nicotine replacement therapy, with patches, gum/lozenges to gradually taper yourself down (21 mg patch to 14 mg to 7 mg every 2 weeks). ...Read more

Please help docs! is puffing 0 nicotine e cigarettes harmful?

Please help docs! is puffing 0 nicotine e cigarettes harmful?

Nobody knows: There are zero studies of e-cigs, and nobody knows what they will do, even with no nicotine. Nicotine is not the cause of cancer anyway - it is the complex hydrocarbons (tars) in the smoke. It is likely that e-cigs will prove safer than smoked cigarettes, the propellant in these gadgets is propylene glycol, and nobody knows what inhaling them, or the oils, flavorings and additives will do. ...Read more

I am trying to stop smoking, using a e liquid vapor pen, one that contains 0 nicotine mg, but i am a bit concerned can i still get cancer from the pen?

Reframe/Rethink: I'd encourage you to reframe/focus on something else...you are nicotine free! That's a HUGE accomplishment, celebrate. Your next step will be on replacing the vapor pen with another activity. Something that will simulate the pen, (i.e. deep breathing, holding something in your hand, sugar free gum to stimulate the senses in your mouth). Get creative. ...Read more

Does our bodies produce nicotine?

No: The confusion may be that we have "nicotinic" receptors in our body as part of the parasympathetic nervous system. The main neurotransmitter is acetylcholine, and there are 2 kinds of receptors - muscarinic and nicotinic. They were thus named because they caused binding of the 2 substances - muscarine and nicotine - but these are not produced in the body. ...Read more
