Yes: If there are no reasons why you can't take birth control pills (smoker, a history of blood clots, etc), some pills can actually stop you from having periods. Many birth control pills may be taken in a way (by skipping the last week of inactive pills) to delay a period. Depends: Some women have a 28 day cycle and some have a 35 day cycle, so being 5 days late for each of those women as an absolute number is going to mean something different.
