Programs: Like p90, p90x, etc. And several other in-home dvd programs attempt to engage all muscle groups to stimulate growth, increase aerobic capacity and improve endurance. They also offer nutritional guidance and suggestions about hydration & rest, all of which, taken together, are essential to burn enough fat so that one's "six pack" is actually visible! it is worth the effort! ...Read more
Can you give me a time table for a healthy lifestyle to improve my health as I live day by day? Thank you so much for your your concern.
Time table?: I'm not sure what you mean by time table; some people can make changes quickly, others more slowly. You might enjoy the book 8 Weeks To Optimum Health by Andrew Weil for a program. I would start by improving diet; eliminate junk food, avoid sugar and fried food, eat mostly fruits and veggies. Increase physical activity; consider yoga/chi gong. Practice meditation or other relaxation techniques. ...Read more
I mean if i follow a diet to lose weight about 1200 calorie should i put oil in ny food or can i replace it by fruit?
Be aware: That a 1200 cal/day diet is a rather restricted caloric intake. It will help you lose weight but isn't a sustainable diet. It also may predispose you to micronutrient deficiency(think minerals and vitamins), so consider a supplement for this. Fruit are fine, but don't forget the veggies. Just be aware, oils can be great but they are calorically dense, so be mindful of how much use are using. ...Read more
Hello i'm wondering if anyone knows if a vegetarian diet is a healthy diet and if it can help your heart in anyway? Thanks god bless
Be cautious: This is a self-styled "candida expert", a lay activist, who self-diagnosed candida overgrowth and has encouraged others to do the same, and wrote a diet book. Most mainstream physicians are unconvinced that this is the key to a health revolution. I would suggest that instead, you for a relationship with an evidence-based holistic practitioner as your guide in a confusing area. ...Read more

Discernment: It's great that you care about your friend. It's also a fact of life that people want to make their own food choices without comment and that much internet 'scare' talk is baseless. I see unhealthy diets in the cafeteria every day. Only if it is extreme (a non-supplementing vegan, a crackpot diet that'll give her scurvy, etc.) is it appropriate even to say anything. ...Read more
Is it safe for a BMI 35.4, 26 y/o woman to be on a 1200 calorie diet or should I chose the 1350? I need motivation through fast results
1200 okay: 1200 calories is a reasonable calorie restriction. Remember that you are trying to make changes in your life style through diet and exercise that will allow you to not only lose weight, but keep the weight off. It does you no good to restrict calories excessively, only to find that you cannot sustain it, go off it and then regain all the weight you lost. Remember that aerobic exercise is a must ...Read more
Would it be safe to go on a 800 calorie a day diet? I've put on weight as a result of my graves' disease.
Depends on...: You current height and weight. But that is typically a very low calorie count. Whereas you'd likely lose weight doing it, it's be hard to do, you wouldn't feel good doing it, and you would put your body in to starvation mode, slowly your metabolism down enough so that once you begin eating even a reasonable number of calories later, you'd regain the weight quickly. See nutritionist instead. ...Read more
I have a close friend and she using alliance diet pills to lose weight. Is that healthy as being a diabetic? Just want to be on a safe side.
Not helpful: Since that medication is over the counter, who knows what's in it. There is no nonprescription weight loss pill that has been shown to be effective in scientific trials. They are also not evaluated by the fda. Could they be harmful? Sure. More importantly, they won't be helpful. The only thing that will lose weight is your wallet. ...Read more
Hi My Daughter Is 20lbs Overweight And She Needs To Lose The Weight By September.Do You Have A Specific Diet Plan For Her To Follow?(Exercises Alot)
Diet : I would really like the information that led you to believe that she is 20lbs overweight. Rule of thumb: 100lb/5' and 5lb/inch above. 10% below, and 20% above, still healthy. Since she is active; just cutting out sugar beverages, junk food, and cut back on carbs. Putting a deadline on weight loss, is a lot of pressure on a child. 2-3lbs a week is a better goal. ...Read more
Would a genie diet be something good if i weigh 218 5'3 and trying to lose weight by summer..Just my tummy!
Maybe not good...: If the genie diet has claims of "detoxing" or "cleansing" the body, that would be a marketing gimmick. If one likes the other parts of the diet plan, he can take the information to an appointment with his doctor to get an opinion. The doctor can also schedule check-up and evaluation visits, to see if an overweight patient is already suffering harm from being overweight. ...Read more
