Do probiotics help process lactose? I noticed that the weeks I drank yogurt with probiotics I was able to tolerate products with lactose I wouldn't normally be able to consume without taking Lactaid pills.
Is there a good diet to follow while taking prevpac(h.Yplori) to prevent side effects? Like activia yogurt and probiotics?
Stools look normal now, still smell really weird. Been off Flagyl abt a month. But smell started before then anyway. Yogurt for probiotics didn't help?
Needs recheck: Metronidazole or Flagyl is normally used to treat Clostridium difficile colitis, Which is an opportunistic infection, usually caused by antibiotic usage. However, there are other causes of infectious diarrhea other than Clostridium difficile colitis. Depends: To be considered "probiotic" the yogurt has to have active cultures (of beneficial bacteria). In the store, a product can say it, but it does not mean it has to have any, or what type. That is why probiotics can be problematic. Nobody has to guarantee that the bacteria are in it and alive and of a type that can help. How to keep your own healthy bacteria in homemade yogurt? Diarrhea returned 3weeks after taking clindamycin for 5 days. Yogurt (probiotics) made diarrhea better. Possible in the case of c difficile colitis?
Clostridium: CDiff does have a significant relapse rate. It has to be 100% liquid in order for the lab to process the sample. Young people can tolerate symptoms much more than the elderly or ill and therefore tend to go on with the infection a lot longer before seeking treatment.
