Yogurts With Acidophilus
Stonyfield,Culturele: If you really want the benefits of lactobacillus acidophilus i advise taking it as a supplement, as most yogurts have little if any live cultures. Stonyfield farms is one brand that does have live cultures. For supplements good brands include culturelle, bio-k+, primal defense, dr. Ohirra's & probiotic pearls. See http://www.Probiotic-info.Com/probiotic-supplements-compared/ for more info. ...Read more
All have them.: If the ada says it is real yogurt with active cultures, then you have your probiotics, but others tout specific strains of bifidus and lactobacilli as being better. There is little hard evidence that this is the case. ...Read more
Probiotic Yogurt: is like a drop in the ocean for gerd and other conditions. Use a probiotic from the health food store. Dr. Ohira's is a good brand. In general, look for a VARIETY of strains in the product rather than highest numbers in terms of strength. DGL is another good product but no space left. Peace and good health. ...Read more

Toss-up: Greek yogurt has more protein and both have some amount of probiotics, which are healthy bacteria to maintain a healthy gut. They probably make no difference for someone your age. Beware of any additives to either yogurt such as fruits and sugar as they make the product less healthy. When replenishing good bacteria during/after antibiotics, which is better -- probiotic supplements or increasing intake of yogurt, kefir, etc.?
Little difference: Probiotics have had a lot of good press in recent years, but scientific proof behind them is weak. Yogurt or kefir probably will have no effect; theie bacteria do not survive in human intestines. None of these will do any harm; use whatever works best for you. But you don't need to do much; normal bacteria will repopulate naturally in a few weeks, with no special treatment. ...Read more
