Support: Encourage nutrition & hydration. Keep him swallowing, as the more he does, the sooner and more likely he will get back to eating normally. Encourage him to not miss treatments; tumor cells grow back on missed days, especially in the most difficult last weeks of treatment. Watch out for fevers; report them to his docs. Stay patient; this can be very tough but he will hopefully come out cured. ...Read more

Stop worrying: Trislosan is a widely-used, apparently harmless chemical that degrades after being discarded into a form of dioxan that is not one of the forms that has toxicity or is supposed to be linked to cancer. It appears that you don't have an enlarged thyroid gland or other mass because of the ct, making cancer unlikely. It can be related to acid reflux (gerd) and laryngopharyngeal reflux (lpr). Some people require mo's of twice daily reflux meds to help. Another issue can be muscle tension dysphonia, so see an ent/laryngologist. ...Read more
