I have a sore throat and cough followed by blister- looking lumps and red spots on tongue, tonsil stones and yellow patches around tonsils and throat.

Several reasons: The term tonsillolith is a misnomer. It is not a stone. The material on the surface of the tonsil could be a benign cyst, a micro-abscess or food particles.
