Allergy related: Probably this is "cobblestoning," which is the finding of streaks of lymphoid tissue on the posterior pharynx (back of the throat). It's caused by chronic allergy type symptoms. Sounds like: you have chronically infected TONSILS ("so called CRYPTIC" tonsils..These would produce negative cultures at this point! Surgical removal is the treatment of choice although some recommend LONG TERM ANTIBIOTICS. You need the opinion of a Board Certified ENT (Ear Nose Throat) SPECIALIST... Hope this helps! I wonder..: ....If what you are describing is actually post nasal drip? This is when discharge from your nose, sinuses or adenoids drips down your throat. It will certainly cause cough, and your throat can get quite sore. If the source is allergic, allergy medicines can help. If there is a sinus infection, antibiotics may help.
