I'm currently prescribed on Gynozole-1 due to a yeast infection. Can I use Monistat to help relieve the itchy/burning side effects during treatment?

I'm currently prescribed on Gynozole-1 due to a yeast infection. Can I use Monistat to help relieve the itchy/burning side effects during treatment?

Won't help: There is no point in adding Monistat to Gynazole. Both are "azole" drugs (miconazole and butaconazole, respectively); neither works better than the other, and neither is designed to control itching. However, once on treatment, you could safely add an over-the-counter cortisone cream. Cortisone makes yeast worse if used alone, but safe and usually effective when used with azole treatment. ...Read more

Diagnosed yeast infection & BV treatments didn't work.. What could I hav dat makes the butt area feel like it's burning too & the vagina & outer area ?

Vagina pain: Okay Janet, you have vulvovaginitis and we don't know why. If it's not yeast or bacteria it could be viral, like herpes. If you haven't seen an Ob/Gyn then I would see one, they see more vaginal infections than most doctors and might recognize your problem. They can also do a PAP and other tests to see what is causing your pain. Good luck. ...Read more

See : See your gynecologist or womens health care provider. Many primary care providers can perform women's health exams as well. If you are suffering from a sexually transmitted infection, then it will be crucial to diagnose appropriately. If diagnosed, your provider will most likely put you on an antibiotic regimen, and can provide a prescription for a topical ointment that can help soothe the skin. Do this right away because an untreated STI can cause terrible effects on the reproductive organs. ...Read more

I started treatment for a yeast infection. It has been 2 days and i've noticed that my clitoris is white. It doesn't itch, but is this normal?

Discoloration: A white discoloration of the vulvar skin and itching makes me think that you may have a skin condition and not yeast. You need to get re-evaluated and ask the dr if you could have lichen sclerosis. This condition is treated different than a yeast infection. ...Read more

I can't seem to get rid of my yeast infection, i always get treatment but a month after it back, what could be the causative agent?

Yeast infection: Assuming you are referring to vaginal infection, the best way to approach this is to have your sexual partner(s) apply an antifungal cream or ointment to their penis twice a day while you are being treated, and treat yourself through one menstrual period. Although this is not an std you can be recolonized by the yeast present on your partners skin, and also true for bacteria with bv. Good luck. ...Read more
