Depending on where your yeast infection is located, whether you share the same towel or bathe together can all influence this possibility. Also, younger children taking antibiotics--especially cephalosporins--can be predisposed to yeast.

Tx: If it’s your 1st possible yeast infection or you aren’t sure if it’s yeast – see your dr. Some tx options include vaginal cream, ointment or suppository for sev. Days (7 to 14 days sometimes). Otc meds include Monistat (miconzole), vagistat-1 (tioconazole), femstat (buoconazole), Gyne-Lotrimin or mycelex (clotrimazole). Otc meds don’t work? See your dr. S/he may order Diflucan (fluconazole) (oral antifungal).

I rec meds: Work better and faster, u can help prevent yeast by taking acidolphilus or probiotics every day but that is not currative if u get one, see your gyn for proper txment cause sometimes you could have a yeast and bacterial infection at the same time, I see that everyday in at least one of my pts, and I send out cultures so I know exactly what my pt has so she can get the proper txment.

Sometimes the discharge isn’t apparent.
