Itchy private areas: I think you are right on track -this could well be an allergy to something, and I would want to know if you tried any new feminine products, detergents/soaps etc. Certainly fungus likes moist areas and could cause these symptoms. Herpes is usually PAINFUL and would be much less likely. If symptoms don't get better in a day or two, I'd want u to see your gyn or primary doc for a definite diagnosis. ...Read more
I had a month long herpes outbreak that I was talking acyclovir for, towards the end I wasn't sure if I was still just healing from that or if something else was going on. Burning and itching and discharge ensued. I thought yeast infection eventually?

Hopefully you have a diagnosis and are under treatment. In this situation there is nothing you can do prevent the mores sores or blisters from appearing. However, if you know the signs of a yeast infection and think you have one, go ahead and treat with an over the counter yeast infection medication, and see your doctor if you have no improvement.

If there is thick white d/c then your doc can test this for yeast. If there is a sore, this can be cultured for herpes.
