Out of system: Birth control pills are out of your system in about 7 days. If the birth control is the actual cause of your symptoms then the should quickly resolve. If they do not resolve it is important to be evaluated as you may have other, more common reasons for depression. It depends...: Effexor (venlafaxine) works very well for some people, not so well for others, same as other antidepressants. Some people have difficulty with side effects initially, especially nausea. Going very slowly up on the dose usually eliminates that problem although some people describe always having a slight feeling of nausea no matter what. No depression, but..: I am not aware of any studies indicating a correlation between chronic zolpidem use and major depression. Some patients have become physically dependent on the medication; some develop tolerance (i.e. They need to increase their dose over time); some pts have memory impairment, usually while the med.
