Yasmin For Pcos
Diagnosed pcos at 14 on yasmin/dianette to 28.Off pill since jan.Had break for 2yrs at 20.Should the early diagnosis&treatment reduce fertility probs?
Possibly: With pcos, the most important things that you can do on your own to maximize your chance of pregnancy include managing your weight and eating healthy. Beyond that, get some help with medication such as Clomid (clomiphene) or others when you are ready to try and get pregnant. And good luck. ...Read more
Was told if I stop Yasmin, bleeding will get worse. How do I make it stop? I have PCOS. I want to stop Yasmin and stop the spotting (not period).help
PCOS: Each case of PCOS will need to be managed individually. If you are not wanting to be on birth control pills you may consider a Mirena IUD. If you are wanting to get pregnant you may need to discuss options for ovulation help. Many PCOS patients struggle with obesity. Weight loss can improve the underlying causes of PCOS ...Read more
Hi, I am 26yr married woman. 3yrs back i was diagnosed with pcos for which I am taking yasmin (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol). Now me & my husband want to plan our family. Please advice?
Check Hormones: Once you are off the Yaz, (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) see your endocrinologist for a full hormone profile. There are several hormones that may be abnormal including but not limited to testosterone and insulin. This will help dictate which medication will help stimulate your ovaries to produce an egg. ...Read more
Started taking yasmin (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) for almost 3 mos now for my pcos and skin breakouts. I'm turning 37 and would like to know how long can I be on this pill?
Long time: Women without risk factors like chronic hypertension, diabetes with damage to their blood vessels, history of blood clot, smoking, can take birth control well into their 40's. As you know all birth control pills can thicken your blood, and put you at increased risk for blood clot. Yasmin (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) a little more so (3-4 in 10, 000 women versus 1 in 10, 000 with regular birth control). Exercise and be health. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Was prescribed yasmin (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) pills for polycystic ovaries. is it ok to switch to diane the next month since it's cheaper?
Was diagnosed with pcos . It has been a year on yasmin (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) pills I will be getting married after 6 months im afraid this will effect my fertility?
Tough: Yazmin is there to balance your hormone level as in PC OS you tend to have higher testosterone levels. Yazmin provides estrogen and Progesterone for you, but of course in the true sense it is a birth control pill. My suggestion would be to see a fertility specialist and internal medicine physician or endocrinologist. ...Read more
Will yasmin (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) regulate periods in PCos? will this medication have any side effects?
Birth control pill: Yasmin (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) is a birth control pill. The nature of birth control pills is that they administer defined amounts of hormones to the body. The hormones suppress the production of ovarian hormones and stop ovulation. The regular administration of defined amounts of hormones also regulates a woman's cycle. On the downside, a woman taking birthcontrol pills cannot get pregnant. ...Read more

Pcos with darkened facial skin.Doc prescribed glucomet, pan40 for now & yasmin (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) when I get my chumps. When will my facial darkening disappear?I'm worried
Melasma?: If the darkened facial skin occurred after starting yasmin, (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) you may have developed melasma, a skin discoloration that may resemble a face mask. Oral contraceptive pills may make some people more susceptible this when combined with sun exposure. You should discuss this with your doctor and ask whether you should continue the birth control pill. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My pcp prescribed yasmin (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) for my pcos. Is it safe to take yasmin (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol)? I've heard so many horror stories surrounding this ocp. Should i take any precautions
In my opinion if: U have pcos that should be managed by an obgyn , not a pcp, I am sure your pcp is very good , but an obgyn knows more about that, i personally never prescribe that pill anymore , #1 it has 30 mcg estrogen, # 2 it is a 21/7 pill and for my pts who have pcos they should be on a 24/4 or a 24/2/2 or take the pill continuously and yasmin (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) has drospirinone u have to watch your k+ and no anti-inflammatories. ...Read more
Prescribed Yasmin (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) for PCOS, but I have a Protein S deficiency... Reluctant to start pill. Any safe alternatives to pill to regulate hormones + period?
Complicted.: blood clots can be a problem with your condition. Do you have plans for pregancy? Being pregnant can be risky as well and you might have to take blood thinner shots during pregnancy. Problems are rare, but I have seen them. Fertility pills and monthly provera (medroxyprogesterone) are alternatives. It is a delicate balance and it will be your decision as to what to do. But hey life is good, enjoy. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Ihave pcos 44"l m getting treatment of metformin ,oral contraceptive pill from 8 month how much time it will take to cure. m 26. Iwant pregnency sugge?
A "cure" like bacon: PCOS is never cured, rather it is managed like bacon is "cured" by preserving the ovaries "freshness" and function for long term use. As to how long that takes, that depends on when you want to get pregnant and use the ovaries for ovulation. They still may need to be "jump started" with an ovulation induction drug when you are ready for conception. ...Read more
Yes and no: Depo-provera will reduce the multiple ovarian cyst formation and inhibit some of the symptoms of PCOS. The downside is that once the Depo-provera is stopped then the same ovulation difficulties will reappear and spontaneous ovulation/fertility is still a problem Moreover, Depo-provera can cause irregular bleeding/spotting. ...Read more
