What are the baby foods safe to feed a g6pd deficiency baby?

What are the baby foods safe to feed a g6pd deficiency baby?

Kids with g6pd deficiency should avoid fava beans. Some kids - depending on their variant - should also avoid blueberries (& yogurts containing them), soy, other legumes, some chinese herbs, or tonic water (not great for babies anyway). My 5month old baby having Hb 9.2gm%,dr gave ferrilite drops,is baby fine, when will his Hb comes normal, having only breast feed?

He'll be fine: Babies are growing very rapidly in that first year, and their iron intake from breast or even from formula at times may not keep up with the need to make new red blood cells because they are growing so rapidly. That's why we as pediatricians check their Hgb between 6-12 months, and give iron if their levels are low. He's otherwise fine, just growing too fast for his diet to keep up with his needs. ...Read more

Is nido fortified safe for unborn baby?

Is nido fortified safe for unborn baby?

Please clarify: Nido fortified is an instant milk that is designed for children aged 4-12 so i don't understand what this has to do with an unborn baby. I think it would be safe for a mother to take during pregnancy, even though it is not meant for this purpose. It is not meant to be a food for newborn babies. Breastfeeding is far and away the best source of nutrition for a baby. Any formula is far inferior. ...Read more

Friend's newborn baby got whooping cough.Granny who didn't know visited sick baby then visited my nb baby on same day. Held both.Chances of catching?

Whooping Cough: I am sorry to hear that your friend's child is ill. There are good vaccinations to prevent this kind of illness in both children and adults now. There is also no guarantee that your granny will get ill. Exposure to illness in no way predicts infection.
