Can using 0.3ml lidocaine with 1:100, 000 epinephrine during dental work interacts with bystolic, (nebivolol) benicar/hct or isosorbide mononitrate medicine.?

Can using 0.3ml lidocaine with 1:100, 000 epinephrine during dental work interacts with bystolic, (nebivolol) benicar/hct or isosorbide mononitrate medicine.?

Probably not: Although Lidocaine is a vasodilator, there is no clinical evidence of any drug interactions or special precautions needed. However, if during the injection, some of the anesthetic were to be introduced directly into a blood vessel, the Epinephrine could cause a minor and short acting increase in heart rate. ...Read more

Can metoprolol succinate be used with albuterol sulfate?

Can metoprolol succinate be used with albuterol sulfate?

Yes: Although it seems paradoxical, it is sometimes prudent to use a beta-blocker at the same time as a beta-agonist. I assume that the albuterol is being used as an inhaler. If you are wheezing, and you respond to albuterol, you may benefit from inhaled albuterol (typically a short course, as other therapies are likely to be beneficial in chronic use.) there can be untoward side effects. ...Read more

Can I use fluticasone propionate nasal spray, fexofenadine hydrochloride & diphenhydramine hydrochloride at the same time?

Can I use fluticasone propionate nasal spray, fexofenadine hydrochloride & diphenhydramine hydrochloride at the same time?

Yes, but: The combination treatment of a topical nasal steroid spray such as fluticasone and a new generation antihistamine such as fexofenadine is a great combination. The use of old antihistamines such as Diphenhydramine (benadryl) is usually not necessary and carries more side effects. If symptoms are not controlled on this regimen seek advice from an allergist for a better plan. ...Read more

Why tyramine contraindicated with mao inhibitor?

Why tyramine contraindicated with mao inhibitor?

Will cause severe BP: Tyramine in large doses can raise your blood pressure, that can cause a stroke and death. Small doses don't do that because there is enough MAO in your intestinal tract to metabolize the tyramine. When you take a MAO inhibitor, tyramine is no longer metabolized in the gut, so it is free to raise your blood pressure to a very high level. This is less likely to happen with topical MAO called emsam. ...Read more
