Xanax During Third Trimester
I am in my third trimester actually due anytime and have been using xanax (alprazolam) for about 4to5 weeks now for anxiety depression bipolar but I'm afraid of h?
Please discuss: With your OB doctor. There are risks to the fetus/child when taking this medication and there are risks to the fetus/child when one becomes manic. Xanax is not typically an effective agent for preventing mania, in addition. Your OB should be made aware of the prescription and needs to council you on both of these issues. Congratulations and good luck!See 1 more doctor answer
Alprazolam is a short acting benzodiazepine, it does not last long in the system. Can breastfeeding help decrease or alleviate a newborn's symptom severity from withdrawals associated w/ 3rd trimester, high-dose RX Xanax (alprazolam) exposure?
Not good idea: While Xanax (alprazolam) does cross into breast milk, the keve l s can be very erratic and thus not a good plan for withdrawl. Otherwise, you are basically asking about keeping your newborn addicted to a controlled substance by passing him the med through your milk to "alleviate withdrawl". You are not alleviating withdrawl, you are keeping them addicted. Don't do it. Do withdrawl supervised in hospital.
What are the risks in taking low doses of Xanax (alprazolam) in the second and third trimester of pregnancy? Half of 25 mg a day
The dose is so low: That's consequences to you or the fetus are likely negligible. Best wishes.
Slight tilt better: There's a large vein (vena cava) that returns blood to your heart that runs up on the right side near your spine. It's possible to compress this with your uterus & that's why you may feel light-headed, dizzy, or with palpitations when you lay on your back. Simply a slight tilt towards your left can avoid vena-caval compression & you'll feel better. If no symptoms, I wouldn't worry about it.See 1 more doctor answer

Odd posting: In the US, ice cream from commercial vendors is pasteurized and provides no risk to a pregnant woman at any stage. If you are consuming home or farm made ice cream from raw milk (illegal in many areas) it would be risky at any stage of pregnancy, not just the last trimester.
Yes: Yes it is safe and whatever position you can get comfortable in!

Normal: The enlarging uterus is putting pressure on your ability to expand your stomach when eating. Eat smaller lighter meals more frequently.

GBS, Glucola: A 1 hour glucose tolerance test is done between 26-28 weeks to screen for gestational diabetes. A culture for group b streptococcus bacteria is done at 35-36 weeks. Urinalysis for protein and glucose are done at each visit, along with blood pressure checks. Fetal testing (non-stress testing) may be indicated, but is not necessary in low risk pregancies.See 1 more doctor answer
Most comfortable.: Often this is some variation of a side by side. These are more comfortable for the mom-to-be and have shallower penetration which puts less pressure on the cervix. Sometimes, depending on the patient and the pregnancy, it can be a challenge to find a comfortable position.See 1 more doctor answer
